Transport properties of rippled graphene.
The exceptionally high mobility of carriers in graphene is one of its defining characteristics, especially in view of potential applications. Therefore it is of both practical and fundamental importance to understand the mechanisms responsible for limiting the values of the mobility. The aim of the paper is to study theoretically one such mechanism, i.e. scattering on ripples. The transport pro...
متن کاملStudy of transport properties in rippled channels
We study dynamical properties of bouncing particles inside of channels with sinusoidal walls. Taking as parameters the amplitude and the phases between the walls we study the transmitivity and its dependence on these parameters. We find an analytical approximation for transmitivity for small amplitudes, which is corroborated by numerical calculation. Pacs numbers: 05.45.Pq, 73.23.Ad, 73.63.Kv
متن کاملTransport properties of armchair graphene nanoribbon junctions between graphene electrodes.
The transmission properties of armchair graphene nanoribbon junctions between graphene electrodes are investigated by means of first-principles quantum transport calculations. First the dependence of the transmission function on the size of the nanoribbon has been studied. Two regimes are highlighted: for a small applied bias transport takes place via tunneling and the length of the ribbon is t...
متن کاملElectronic transport properties of graphene nanoribbons
We will present brief overview on the electronic and transport properties of graphene nanoribbons focusing on the effect of edge shapes and impurity scattering. The low-energy electronic states of graphene have two non-equivalent massless Dirac spectrum. The relative distance between these two Dirac points in the momentum space and edge states due to the existence of the zigzag type graphene ed...
متن کاملTransport properties of graphene nanoribbon heterostructures
We study the electronic and transport properties of heterostructures formed by armchair graphene nanoribbons with intersections of finite length. We describe the system by a tight-binding model and calculate the density of states and the conductance within the Green’s function formalism based on real-space renormalization techniques. We show the apparition of interface states and bound states i...
